Does anyone know where you can buy A5 or Letter sized paper blank, similar to Rhodia or Leuchtturm in 25pk or 50pks?

 

I want to design a nice layout and print off a few sheets to use for reviews. Before I go buy a pad of paper and dismantle it, I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for buying stationery as sheets vs book/pad form.

 

A5 would be preferred, probably get a decent review done on that size... I like the Rhodia dot grid pads I have which is why after paper that's similar, but will look at other options. Just figured for a review, a commonly used/found paper like Rhodia would make sense.

Rhodia doesn't make their paper do they? It's made by Clairefontaine right? I think I read that somewhere.

 

Not bad.. nice clean tear away pad. All my Rhodia/Leuchtturm is dot-grid or ruled, or the large 16x12 I think is the size.

Looks like I'll need 8.5x11... checked the Clairefontaine, was going to buy it but 8.25x11.75 (A4 not Letter) which not a big deal but, also not in stock. A5 was but... for all the details I want in the form, it'll be pretty cramped.

 

The fountain pen/stationery industry seems to be a 90% out of stock one. Not been having any luck at all the past two weeks trying to buy pens/ink and supplies. :D

I bought a ream of nice paper in A4, took it to a printer and had them guillotine 1/3 down to A5 and the other 2/3 down to B5. Now I have two nice stacks of paper in sizes I can use. Also the waste from the B5 is used to test pens, scribble, etc.

 

As for the 'nice paper', that depends on where you are. At the time I was able to source some nice, inexpensive Fuji Xerox paper that is one of the best cut sheet papers available. Sadly it is no longer available. However, you could use any nice, hard, smooth FP friendly paper, such as Stora Enso, HP colour Laser, Double A, etc.

I was hoping something like Rhodia for paper, simply because when doing a review, it made sense to me to use a paper probably everyone on here has tried before and are familiar with... vs a region secific paper or paper no longer available. :)

Clairefontaine does make a copy paper called DCP (Digital Copy Paper). I have tried it, it is good, but not as good as normal Rhodia/Clairefontaine notebook paper.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
