Dearest Members and Visitors to our little Fountain Pen Nut house on the digital prairie,

 

We are quite excited, because recently, on March 25 to be exact, FPN became the highest ranked (fountain) pen interest site worldwide, beating even the biggest brand name forums to the number one spot!

Currently we are ranked around 32,000 worldwide, and around 13,000 in the USA, this of a total of over 30 million sites all over the world.

Obviously ranking varies a little, on a day by day and seasonal basis, but so far the trend is holding :).

 

Considering we really are in a relatively narrow niche market, and considering where we came from almost 11 years ago now, I think this is truly amazing, even more so considering we broke through to the top 100,000 literally only 2 years ago, almost to the day!

 

Not bad going for an entirely volunteer run site :D, and it would not have been possible without you, our active members!

 

Therefore, congratulations to all, and thank you for your continued support!

Well it is nice to belong to a successful forum. Congratulations to all who make it number one.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

Indeed! The tireless work that moderators and admins do is a pretty amazing labor of love. We have a little joke in our industry that it would be really difficult to get fired from a volunteer position, but here at FPN there is a tremendous commitment and standard held in light of a wide spectrum of culture and experience.

I think it's because of the general topics. And you have people from other forums dumping people here. Like in WuS they dump the newer Fp people here to learn and you get a MB you can go back there.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
