Very good. It will be lonely. I know of a silver one looking for a home. :lticaptd:

For $23.50? :-)

Probably not but your $23.50er didn't come fully restored either. ;)

I'm not opposed to adding a Silver one to the collection.

PM me a price, I might be interested.

Nicely done Estiecicle listing.

The background for the listing format thingie even matches the pen.

It must have been pretty effective. It sold a lot higher than I expected. I'm very happy.

Dang man, well sold! I just finished restoring my greeny meany Estycicle, and I must say, it came out beautifully! Don't think I'll be able to part with this one, it's just to purty.

<whisper> I have an Estie about to head my way <whisper>

Now, you'll have to use your imagination for this bit. I'm doing a little furtive kind of jig and I have the beginnings of a smile on my face!

Appears to be a lovely Mexican made green one. This will be my first Icicle!

I'm kinda excited!

Ah, you lucky fiend! I was bidding on that one, too! Well, at least it went to a good home -- couldn't ask for better than to lose to a fellow FPN'er, if I was gonna lose. :D

It's already up on the block. The nice thing is the Broad nib bonus.

...I really need a straw hat and cane when I do this...

Normally I'm not much for Icicles -- I prefer the mackerel coloration -- but that silver one is quite nice. Way beyond my price point for an Estie, but nice.

When you said you needed a straw hat and cane, all I could think of was the scene from the old movie Idiot's Delight, when Clark Gable (as a relatively bad vaudevillian, does "Putting on the Ritz").

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I was thinking about Marlon Brando in the Island of Dr Moreau, but with pens instead of animals.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
