Brown Pink - Kwzi

visvamitra

Recommended Posts

As some of you may know Poland is one of biggest exporter of cosmetics, furniture and fruits. But we also have inks :)

Hopefully more and more inkthusiasts know what the four letters - KWZI - mean. They mean good ink, saturated color. The fruit of the passion.

You can check Konrad's site here.

Brown Pink is complex color I'm not really keen on but I'm pretty sure some will like it.

@C - nah, it won't ;) I've used the sample (around 5 ml) and still find it nice to write with but not so enjoyable in terms of color. Luckily Konrad offers a lot of colors so everyone will find something interesting.

I am now very glad I decided to add this to my order at the last minute. I need this ink. Right now. :notworthy1: :puddle:

Makes two of us. Thanks, visvamitra, for the review. Based on the swab, I thought I would really like it and now I know I will.

Funny you said that... Konrad told me once (long time ago) that he used to have an ink named "Cherry on Chocolate".. and he doesn't remember why he stop making it, but he was thinking in bring it back. Now, I am wondering if this is "Cherry on Chocolate V2" ... :D

Cherries!

I was trying to thinking of what this ink colour reminded me of, and you nailed it.

Thanks for showing us the ink!

Just a reminder, reviews of KWZI inks, powdered inks that are no longer made, Scribes inks (limited run) all belong here in Th-Inking Outside the Bottle.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I should have gotten this... Now that I see what you can make it do. That looks fabulous, and the name is NOT a good indicator...

Oh well. Live and learn. Next time...

  • 2 weeks later...

Reminds me a little of Black Swan in English Roses, a current favorite of mine.

Actually, it seems to be a little redder/pink than BSiER, which I found to be disappointingly brown-toned. (As in, really? What about that color said "roses" to ANYONE....?)

I'm a bit with visvamitra on this one. Not a color family I'm all that enamored of, the burgundies. They tend to be too red to be brown, too brown or purple to be red, and not purple/red-violet enough to make me happy, for the most part. But this one is Not Too Bad for what it is. I like the shading it's getting, but also am not unhappy that this one didn't make my short list on the Group Buy #3.

Thanks for the review. Seeing inks I don't want (or can live without) is often as useful -- and a whole lot better for my bottom line -- than inks I DO want.

SUPER happy with this one. Just the right shade of puce I was looking for. [i always think of Kenneth Anger's experimental film, "Puce Moment" when I see this color!]

Great ink!

Another interesting KWZI ink. It reminds of MB Bordeaux.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Reminds me of Private Reserve Black Cherry. I'm with Ruth and Visvamitra...definitely a color I could live without. Great review, though.

Understood; this color is certainly not for everyone. Puce is a very old-fashioned kind of color —popular in the late 19th C and early 20th C— but it's a difficult color to find in such a good quality ink.

Well this is an interesting color! The name is quite fitting and reminds me a little of Tulipe Noire.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
