My Experience With Pendleton Brown Bls-Falcon

I am pretty new to the fountain pen scene, 7 months or so. After I tried the TWSBI 1.1mm for the 580AL, I decided to try the Pendleton Brown's Butter Line Stub nib. I want to share my experience with everyone here.

In closing, Mr. Pendleton Brown's service and communication was very pleasant and I love the nib! Thank you so much!

Glad your story had a happy ending. I have heard good things about Pendleton Brown.

A good nib can provide great satisfaction to the writing experience

The B nib that came with my TWSBI mini is a hard starting pain in the butt- I may just send it off to PB!

He ground my 580 broad nib to a butterline stub and it is a delight to use. As the OP found out, Pendleton generates most of his business from repeat customers (like me) and word of mouth from satisfied customers (Bruce from Ocala let me try one of his PB grinds and the nib spoke for itself). He treats his customers very well. Take the plunge. I've posted elsewhere that half the fun of a Pendleton nib is dealing with Pendleton, one of the nicest people in a community with a very high percentage of nice people.

I have had one brief interaction from him here on the forums and basically I just wanted to give him a hug because of it. TWSBI wants me to mail my pen to them so they can look at it (I wish they'd just send me a replacement nib or something but, I digress), instead I may just save myself the effort and have Pendleton work his magic. I wager I'll be happiest with that outcome, anyway.

 

I love hearing these stories however, I find it's a pleasure to do business with someone who is a pleasure to deal with and you're quite right that the result is often repeat customers and high praises. Which is win/win for everyone involved. Now to wait for my next paycheck :D

I had heard about PB before I became his customer. And as part of a Pay It Forward on Facebook, I bought my sibling one of his modified nibs with TWSBI pen. Then I bought one for me.

 

I have found him quick to respond to questions and comments, entertaining and funny, and a joy to work with. Today I have just ordered the 3rd pen in one month from him. And I have no doubt that this will not be the last purchase from him.

 

I can't recommend him highly enough.

I had a brief e-mail conversation with him, and he was prompt to reply and pleasant. I bought a 580AL with his BL stub, from a broad nib. Very lovely pen, without a single problem. I was impressed by both the pen and the grind.

 

Tempted by another, but trying to refrain.
