Okay, thank you. I will do that in a day or two.

But I would like to know if there are other people here, who might also feel that way. Do you feel as well that the name could be a bit less grim? Or maybe this bothers no one at all, only me?

No offence....

But i like the name....

Yes, it appears so far that many people like the name. Of course if many people state that they are absolutely fine with it, then I will step down and just accept it. That's just fair.

I plan on getting one of these, along with the Galactic and Spear. I have one ASA, but it is good enough for me to get a few more.

So then, now we play a round of the good old waiting game, won't we?

.

Is it March yet?

However, I'm wondering if there still will be a photo of the acrylic version prototype of the pen; to pass the time, you know?

Thanks Vaibhav for all your effort to make this happen and posting this pictures. They look great, but these pics have got me more and more impatient. :D

Can't wait to get the pen now.

I know it's not fair on either ASA or Gama, but we could suggest that they don't offer these pens after the group buy is over. We could be exclusive owners of limited edition Snipers. B) Just a very selfish thought.

If ASA is engraving them, you would have a very low number - that might make it pretty unique.

Also, the design might be (slightly) adapted. That is what happened with the Onyx that Mesu offered: I have a first edition of that, and it is a little different from what she is now offering. Of course you see the danger - I had to have that one, too! Beware of second editions!

Can you please compare both the editions of onyx visually for us... If possible

Prototypes are made for improvements. A prototype is not a final version. ASA is more professional & we should remember he is manufacturing this pen - not just selling on commission.

I understand that the final pen would be much better - the reason as to why many pics have not been released.

Have a Sniper comin' my way....below is from ASA's site....

A description of the name: India has a tradition of honoring its soldiers. In India, we have the concept of "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" (Hail the Soldier, Hail the Farmer) - one who protects our freedom, and the one who provides us food. This name of the pen is an ode to the untiring soldier who protects us and protects our freedom. A Sniper is a highly trained and specialised soldier, who is known for his high level of efficiency and high achievement of target results. The Sniper engages targets from concealed positions. We believe the pen, with its design and performance will stand true to its name. We hope the users of this pen will put it to good use, and with their writing will finish off vices and fight other evils prevailing around them and bring peace, happiness and joy to everyone.

I concur....

can they engrave a number like xx/yy like say 07/50 or something for the limited edition pens??

@vaibhav can you find out the feasibility of the same?

Hi all,

Sorry if what I said came out the wrong way. Many pen manufacturers make limited editions of designs.

Given the amount of work Vaibhav has done with Mr.Subramaniam of ASA for all of us, I just thought it may be a good idea to have a limited edition of this.

This is a great idea if it is feasible. It would still be a unique pen that the group buy people have.

Again, sorry if what I said earlier came out wrong.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
