Dear All

This is a dedicated thread for group buys of ASA pens.

Currently we are pitching in for the ASA hooded pen prototype.

Would request all to submit their names who all are in here for the customized hooded ASA pen either in acrylic or ebonite..

:) :)

Even an acrylic resin transparent barrel is a pretty good option.

ASA had done a prototype thing earlier

I'm in tentatively. I'd need to have some idea about price before I can commit though.

I have questions; may I?

- Do you think there will be a transparent acrylic version available, which will look more or less like this "prototype'? Because that looks great.

- Will German nib units be used in this? I'm wondering because I don't understand how a screw-in nib could work together with a hooded nib; am I missing something?

- How much longer will you be gathering pledges from interested buyers? I'm asking because I will be on holiday next week and subsequently won't be spending much time on fpn.

I have no idea - but when the manufacturer tried a transparent barrel previously as sort of prototype, he would surely finalize it - thats what logic says.

As such ASA has been experimenting with transparent acrylic resins (like in Galactic & Maven) and I am pretty sure, he will have a transparent barrel version as well - maybe even colored acrylic (I would love to have one). I am not privy to these issues, but based on his replies, these are what i surmise.

As this group buy pen *has to be* manufactured from scratch (design type has been conceptualized only a few days back among the group buy members) I think few weeks should be given for the project

As such if you ask him persuasively with clear intention and commitment to buy, Mr. S may be more forthcoming. The ASA contact is at http://asapens.in/eshop/100-percent-interaction

I guess Mr. Vaibhav is already in touch with him on this.

Hello,

I am in for a Black Ebonite Pen (M Nib) based on the Lamy 2000. I am new here so please let me know how to go about this.

Thanks & Regards,

I'd like to sign up for 1 pen in acrylic.

I would like it with a transparent acrylic barrel (a la demonstrator) and I would like to be an M nib.

I hope this can be arranged.

Thank you.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
