Group Buy In India?

Recommended Posts

I'm still wondering how I held out so long. I've only just ordered one of the new model, a few days ago. Of course, I have the clipped and clipless version of the first iteration... and they are really wonderful. So I guess my next Onyx could be part of the group buy... I will be going for a burgundy clipless.

Actually, now I think I'll get the 4C too with Prasad's modification to take the pointed nibs!

And I thought I won't buy any new ones in the first three months. Already in here,

- Onyx

- Writer

- 4C

Whereas my list for the year had a total of 5 pens (of which none are in here). Sigh...

Edit: Added the modification for 4C

It looks like we haven't got enough to do it via Asapens, is anyone willing to do it without them?

Price, design etc

I put my savings to test

Lamy & Pilot FPs the Best

No more I even think of the rest

I think if he knows about it, he will make it anyway. The Group Buy is for price determination.

As such I also find the Ratnamson 21 rounded ends interesting. But no idea about its size or price.

But equally skeptical about its nib ! Uses a Camlin nib argh....

Yes a very nice idea.. Matt black finish Lamy 2000 design with ink window..

Would be nice if its a triple filler.. Converter, Cartridge and Eyedropper (have seen such pens made on ASA website)

I would like both P51 design and Lamy 2000 design.

Shiny finish black or rippled green

But nib should be good - not hacked from Camlin (else one can buy the Camlin for Rs 40)

The pen should not be very slim like the Chinese ones, but should have a "normal" section / girth.

The pen should be postable (posted length should preferably be like Genius / 78G).

There should be ink window (preferably in the middle not in the end)

Preference for threaded cap and not push cap

Cap should not have hole

Ink filler should be either ED type or C/c or the triple fillers. It should not be hacked aerometric filler from Chinese ones like some other manufacturers do.

Whatever - dont try to save pennies by cutting features - but make a good pen of good quality so that there is good writing experience.

I am ready to wait for a good pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
