This is both exciting and entertaining. For my own part, I'm highly amused in that I managed to homebrew a mix that resembles both Dumas Tulipe Noir and Caran D'Ache Storm (or at least the internet things I've seen; I've used neither ink in my pens). It turns out 0.7mL of Lexington Grey to 0.2mL of Private Reserve Plum forms a beautiful shading dusky purple. I'll have to post something about that in Ink Mixes.

At any rate, I'm excited about the possibility of buying a bottle of the FPN Dumas Tulipe. Although.... does anyone have a sample of it that they'd care to swap? If so, please PM me....

No. I checked the fpn marketplace under the heading inks. They are not showing to be available to purchase. If I understood correctly, the inks will be sold through the marketplace this time.

Anyone with other info?

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that... but I've seen several posts from Amber, saying they're available, and now this post from a donor saying he has bottles in hand. =/ Kinda curious here.

If I remember correctly.. you click on the "Support FPN" Tab... and then select FPN Inks.

They are there for purchase.

Oh yeah.... I think is something about having small stock and giving first dibs to the FPN supporters.

I am sure they are getting more stock for everyone. Please don't take my info as absolute truth. I am not part of the Admin team. Just sharing the little info I know.

I appreciate you sharing the info you have - I have only been following this thread about the inks so without an announcement from the powers-that-be I wouldn't have known where to look. :)

We're also still configuring our store, and the current donors are effectively our testers :).

We should get an update very soon, a fresh batch of VGSNB has been shipped to us :).

Post some more pictures, please, you people who know how to make them! They're delightful.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
