This is my new Montblanc Meisterstuck LeGrand 90th Anniversary Edition fountain pen. What do you guys think about it?

Testing some pens:

And, I got the LeGrand Fine Nib

EDIT: Thanks, dad.

Very nice pen. It was even better that you were able to test out the different sizes before purchase

In order to appreciate the sweet, you must truly taste the bitter....

Nice, in this sample writing, I can see the EF too the way to M is quite acceptable. In real life, my 149 F nib is behaving like BB in the sample

Hi, very nice so its the same model pen but with all the different option nibs. Just curious around how much does a set like that go for.

I'm not sure but I think they will give you a discount.

Very nice pen.

I didn't know they had all the nib sizes ready to go like that. Must have been nice to try all of them side by side.

Very nice pen! Perfect to have the opportunity to test all those nibs and the one you bought. That is how it always should be.

I don't make it to a Montblanc boutique very often. Last time I did I got to play with a wide range of nibs -- a memorable and fun experience.

Congrats on your purchase. It is a beautiful pen and looks like you had a great experience testing nibs. Enjoy and thanks for sharing!

BEAUTIFUL!

I've always been a huge fan of rose gold. I just wish you could "nib-meist" the rose gold nib. Unfortunately, it's rose gold plated on yellow gold... so it flakes off if you grind or tune it.

Beautiful pen. Nice touches all the way around..... and a great Dad to give such a gift. I hope it serves you well your entire life.

I enjoy MB 146 pens, Sailor, Pilot and Platinum pens as well. I have a strong attraction to dark red and muted green ink, colors I dislike for everything but FP ink. I also enjoy practicing my handwriting and attempting to improve it. I love the feel of quality paper under a gold nib.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
