Just use a metallic purple spray paint. Flat would look.... not as good, methinks. (Though, let's be honest, you do you and we'll all ooh and aah after the fact.)

Metallic is a good idea. I was looking at that, yesterday, but I wasn't paying attention to the can I grabbed and when I got home realized I had bought a can of purple plasti dip. Oh well, back to Pep Boys.

I personally don't want a purple Safari... but I would have to buy one if they came out. My sweet wife loves all things purple and loves her Safari's!

Sorry I haven't been on lately or keeping track of the petition as have been busy. But wow 39 signatures, that's a good start. Keep spreading the word people!

Yes, petition now signed.

Purple Safari would be really really nice.

Purple 2000 would probably be still nicer (well, any coloured 2000, for that matter)

Signed.

I really wonder how many of the same colors we have to have before we get a nice purple one...

plumista, a purple 2000 would be a dream come true! My favorite color and my favorite pen design together, blissful!

Another vote for a purple 2000! The special edition in red was gorgeous, but far too expensive for me.

Oh you mean the Johnny Ive one? I believe that was a one off and it sold for around 30k euros if memory serves. Out of the price range for about 99.9% of us :P

Yes that's the one. It was only 29,900 euros too expensive for me. ;)

You and me, both. It's actually my wife who drives me to seek out and obsess over collect various different Safari/Al-Star colours. She loves colour and gold trim furniture on her pens.

OK, not a Safari purple, but... close enough, a decent substitute, for a fraction of the Lamy price?

This Hero 359 comes complete with three sections+three nibs (EF, F and M), and besides ink cartridges, and besides free shipment...

My "Purple Safari" second best, at least until a true Lamy is released, if ever.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
