Wow! This is a pretty cool pen! I'd love to have one myself now.. :)

The mechanism is pretty interesting and I love the nib as well. Great review!

If you look, you can find them as cheap as $10. You may need to re-sac it, but it is super fun.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Are there flexible nibs that fit it?

I have been using this with a simple C6 Speedball nib and been getting some decent flex, especially if you push it... example of general flexy writing with that setup (please note, I am not a flex pen user, and this was just to get the colour saturation and comparison for a review example):

I don't know... all the speedball nibs seem flexy to me. I really like the C nibs.

Very interesting pen. When I used Speedball nibs, I only had a wooden stick pen and had to dip. Actually, I loved those days. Hmmmmmm - I wonder if I have any of those nibs hidden away… I'm off to check.

I have not tried the other nibs in the pen - got a little side tracked. However, I agree that any same sized nib that has a top reservoir and fits in a standard nib holder should work. Most good art supply stores should have a large selection of Speedball nibs, including some for lefties.

Hey, did you ever find out the results?

I'm not sure what I was working on - flex nibs, maybe?  I haven't used dip pens in forever, not since I discovered flex nibbed fountain pens.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Tip of the snorkel / feeding tube has a inner pin that can be extended or retracted tiny bit. This is mentioned as sort of a shutoff system in the instructions. When the pen is pointing nib up, it automatically closes up in this  pen. That also could mean that i might be missing some components inside. It probably should be more rigid.

Instruction sheet of this pen.

Any other nib with the same outer width should work on this. Haven't tried though.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
