Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

How's it compare, color-wise, to the regular IG Orange? I just ordered a bottle of that in the group buy someone in my local pen club put together, and now I'm wondering if the Mandarin would have been closer to what I want....

Sigh.

When's that January NA Group buy happening? 'Cause between this and the IG Green-Gold....

I'm always one step behind reviews in posting scans photos, but here is comparison between few of my more recent ins and some older ones. Those are scans, so they are not the best in color representation... but I have plane in 8 hours  and I grabbed what I actually had in home for fast comparison ;)

On this scans both rotten green and hunter green looks pretty far from truth (on my monitor - in real those colors are both darker and more green, with Hunter green significantly more green than Rotten Green)

I don't have IG Orange at home - I thought that one of samples was this ink, but this was one of versions of IG Sepia - yet not fully tested and accepted ink.

I have a lot of tape - and I won't hesitate to use it!

Thank you for the pictures!!

I'll try and add them to the other links if you don't get a chance to do it.

Ruth, I'll try and ink up Orange in the next few days.

Hello, I'm still pretty new to the Fountain Pen world, got a little sidetracked with dip pens and practicing Spencerian. However, I have acquired a few vintage pens. :) One of them is a Jade Tulip and I'm looking for the right green, which is proving surprisingly difficult. A few of the KWZI IG greens look really good, much better than anything else I've seen (to my eye and taste). Would they be okay to use in a vintage FP with a lever system? I'm thinking cleaning is going to be more challenging than with the Noodler's Ahab pen, which I'm A-OK for taking apart and putting back together now.

A related question, are the non-IG inks generally friendly to pens, especially those with sacs and so forth?

Thank you,

Elle

Elle, I love my KWZI inks. Konrad's Iron Galls are the nicest I've ever used. As with any pen, clean it. Don't let the ink dry out inside.

I am hoping to participate in the next KWZI Group Buy. Looks as though it will be very popular! The IGs draw me the most, although there are some many other gorgeous colors.

I know how to take an Ahab apart so no worries with using IGs in that. It's my new-to-me Tulip with super flexible gold nib and lever fill system that has me worried. And that's the one that I want to put an IG Green or Gold-green in!

Thanks for your reply.

Has anyone tested this for water resistance? It's such a lovely color...
