So next you are going to order the C nib for it?

Since we are talking Lamy's here I have to say my Lamy Vista (extra fine nib) never ceases to surprise me with its reliability. I had it kept upright for a few days and it wrote straight away putting down ink on paper immediately. It's nib too is one of the smoooothest I have ever used. Needless to say I used it again today.

I carry my Wild Rubin Studio everywhere. Gold F nib, filled with Yama-Dori; "pleasure" doesn't begin to describe it. :)

Graphite Al-Star with 14k gold F nib. Smooooth.

This is pretty sweet. It's exactly what I'm planning to get, but I'm going to put a 14k medium nib on mine. I used to have an AL-Star, but it became lost, and I find I miss it. The gold nib pairing is icing on the cake, for sure.

Today, I'm carrying my Lamy 2000 with Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue -- an outstanding combination.

Bernardo-

That picture of the 25P is a cruel tease. I actually remember the days when all the cool kids in my class had that pen (rather than a Pelikano).

The ABC is also a design classic!

I have just returned to Lamy with a new 2000 EF after years of abstinence (mostly because of Safari and Studio disappointment - I find these pens travel badly in airplanes).

That's indeed a cool pen for a student!

Can you post some pics of your new 2K? ;)

Cheers

Today I'm using 2 Lamy Safari Charcoals. One is filled with Diamine Turquoise and the other is filled with Diamine Steel Blue. They are my workhorse pens 😄

Why do I keep coming back to my Lamy Vista EF. I must break this habit, but not today.

That ink is nice, isn't it? Dark enough to be perfectly readable. Got my pen with an M nib a few weeks back from LaCduC, and took 10 boxes of the ink. I am going to order 10 more, it's so nice.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
