If this smells as good as it looks, I'll have to get me some. Already got me the Elderberries, which I like a lot!

Yes, it does. I think it's Aubergine because the colors look the same in my samples, but the scent is delicious.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

And some more purples: deA Aubergine, deA Elderberries (scented), WN Purple, deA Blackberry (scented), and Noodler's BSAR:

De Atrementis Aubergine. I discovered this from a CRV sent to me by Amberlea. I bought a bottle for myself. It is a rich, dark purple with red undertones, that is dark enough to serve as a purple-black but is actually a true purple.

Very nice! Oh, and by the way, have you ever been to Century Pens on south LaSalle? We don't have a decent pen / ink store here in Indianapolis, so I was wondering if Century would be worth a day trip...

I don't understand why Lamy only offers their violet ink in cartridges. All their other colors also come in a bottled form, and it's been this way for many years.

I can only think it's a way to sell Lamy pens, since you have to have a Lamy pen in order to use this color ink.

Not yet, I work downtown, I want to make it there some day when we get into the double digit temps! I am not really a luxury pen buyer but would be nice to see the place.

Wikipedia says Lamy and Parker cartridges are interchangeable. Haven't tried it myself.

Really? Ooh, this sounds exciting! I will have to try this. And my two Aurora pens both have Parker converters in them, so maybe it works in those pens too.

I was sorting cartridges and I really thought that they looked compatible, so that would be good try. Thank you.

I remember reading somewhere that Amber says DA Aubergine has a scented version that smells quite good, but I don't remember the name and can't find the post anymore...

OOPs, I don't remember either. My brain is giving me the silent treatment.

Vis found it!

Giacomo Puccini

Aubergine

Louise Aston

Aubergine

Power Woman

Birthday Ink

Aubergine

Holidays

Check out his spreadsheet.

I've prepared excel worksheet with De Atramentis inks - it's not complete, I need to update it with scented inks, but if you want, take a look or download it. Alva Edison is actually Black Red. Aubergine has at least four names: Aubergine, Louise Aston, Giacomo Puccini, Birthday ink.

There is also no problem at all screwing on the barrel - it has enough clearance to accommodate the Lamy cartridge.

Thank you! I wonder if we should start and new thread with that information so it could be found in the future.

I've started a brand new thread to discuss Lamy/Parker cart interchangeability here:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/317282-lamy-and-parker-cartridges-interchangeable/

@Noihvo -- if you would like to repost your test results there, we can carry on the experiments in the new location.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
