A beautiful earthy, autumn colour to reflect the season.

Is the Terracotta a dark saturated color for the most part? What would be a close comparison? A hearty thanks for the phenomenal reviews you've produced for the 8 new Diamine inks.

Thank you for your kind words and you are most welcome. Terracotta can't be called a dark colour, it is saturated, imagine a vibrant, glistening, burnt orange. It is very close to, but lighter than Diamine's Ancient Copper.

Thanks for the response and info. This one is on my list. Going to buy it from Diamine site direct along with the Safari and Blue Velvet. Shipping charge to U.S. is 5 GBP, which isn't bad for three bottles as the ink itself is running less than 7 GBP per bottle. Can't wait until late Dec to Jan. (:

Not in my usual colour range but it is a cracking ink and I might well give it a go sometime.

Ditto. I usually don't like orange inks, but this one might make me rethink....

Thanks for the review, Bhavna.

While you are inked up, mail letters (because your letters are awesome and it allows us to see comparisons). I'm thinking this one begs to be compared to Red Chalk.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It is lovely and so vibrant! For me however, Ancient Copper rules!

Looks a bit like Montblanc Leonardo Red Chalk.

Is that a little more chalky in appearance? I would love a side by side - anyone?

Bhavana,

...... You set high standards with your earlier reviews and these more than live up to them, thank you. There is something for almost everyone in this new collection. My immediate aspirations are; bottles of Safari and Terrcotta appear in my Christmas stocking. Thereafter I will have a closer look at Canival and Regency Blue once my supply of Diamine Matador and various other darker blues need replenishment.....

Regards,

Falcon

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words Falcon. I am delighted the reviews are being received so well. I agree that there is indeed something for all and the fact that the inks are individually available is fantastic. I second the colours you have chosen, but why wait to replenish? B)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
