visvamitra
I find the colors in Akkerman line nice however I was disappointed when they discontinued the big bottles. Anyway even when they're small, the Akkerman bottles rock. http://imageshack.com/a/img674/7442/ruEGDI.jpg Hopjesbruin is very nice brown that I enjoy. On the other hand I believe and will try to prove it that Hopjesbruin is just repacked Diamine Sepia. lgsoltek
I agree. They look exactly the same. All my inks, with ink splash and links to my reviews
Tas
Don't get me started on the bottle size especially as they produce my favourite ink (No 10) Thanks for the comparison. I can't see any real difference either. Do they feel different to use perhaps.I recall ESSRI and Akkerman's No 10 being called similar. I LOVE them both but they feel totally different when in the pen. Thanks again. I look forward to each and every one of your reviews.
Sakura FP Gallery
Yes the same. Akkerman is an old an wellknown pen shop. It's not an ink manufacturer. Catherine Van Hove www.sakurafountainpengallery.com Koning Albertstraat 72b - 3290 DIest - Belgium
Cyber6
I am with Tas... I was told Shocking Blue and Majestic Blue were the same... nope. I have both and although the look similar... they behave and feel quite different on my pens. What I am willing to accept is that Akkerman might be doing their own mixes with Diamine. PS104
What I am willing to accept is that Akkerman might be doing their own mixes with Diamine. Like Swisher with Nooodlers INk. This has an ominous word of caution. So many of these inks that were made for individual sellers, eg, Swisher, Art Brown, tend to fall by the wayside when said seller leaves the pen and ink scene for whatever reason. Several were picked up by Fountain Pen Hospital when Art Brown closed but not all. Hopefully Akkerman will not suffer this fate
Algester
I dont think akkerman will close not unless la curonne du cmte also closes then it will be end of the pe. amberleadavis
This ink is one of the browns that I own and enjoy...it reminds me of a cold amber. visvamitra
Frankly - these two feels the same I should have samples of Majestic Blue and Shocking Blue. Time to give them a try. For instance I have documented pairs: Hopjesbruin = (more or less) = SepiaGroenmarkt Smaragd = (more or less) = UmberGaruda Rood = (more or less) = Monaco Red Maybe Akkerman is mixing them a little bit but just a bit Edited November 23, 2014 by visvamitra https://wondernaut.wordpress.com/
