Amazing! Glittering! Scientific! Could be the best pictorial ink review ever, thank you!

Beautiful! I did get Stormy Grey and I love it. I agree with you that it's easy to clean. I've only had it in my Faber Castell Ondoro with .75mm Binder CI and it cleaned very well. Now I just need a wetter pen!

I received my bottle yesterday and inked it in my Parker Sonnet today.

I really like this ink - my Sonnet is quite a wet writer, so the golden flecks can be seen easily on the page, providing a wonderful subtle sparkle when viewed under light.

However, it's also really well behaved - it hasn't feathered on school books (which is the worst paper I write on), yet dries surprisingly quickly on much better paper (tested on Rhodia and Oxford Optik) - much faster than Diamine Majestic Blue, which I have inked in my TWSBI.

It also lubricates the pen really well - I can only compare it to Diamine and Lamy inks, but the pen seems much smoother when writing on better paper with Stormy Grey.

All in all, I'm very happy! Going to use it as my go-to note-taking ink, as it's subtle enough not to distract from what is being written, yet has a wonderful character that no other ink I own has.

Huh??... I placed my pre-order in the first week of September... and got my bottle (actually two bottles) the first week of October.. That's the sample Vis is using...

If you are willing to pay for shipping.. you can get it at the same time as the US (and even before since most people in the US are still waiting for it) ;)

Stunning review. Thank you for all the work you do!

I have this in a Pelikan m100 with a 1.0 mm stub, and it's just wonderful. My only quibble is how quickly the dust goes out of solution. So I have to keep shaking the pen, and last week had some, er, spatter.... And it's kind of an expensive ink to waste on gratuitous spatter (as opposed, of course, to visvamitra's obviously *non*-gratuitous spatter -- i.e., spatter in the interest of a thorough review ).

Glad to hear that it is easy to flush out of pens, because I haven't done that yet -- I just keep refilling the pen with the lovely ink....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
