My P 51Experience

It was in 1991 that i found a parker 51 aeromatic filler pen wid a book seller in a remote town of southern district lakki marwat of the kpk province of pakistan.the book seller said it belonged to his father..i gave a good cleaning to the pen...however ,i came to know that the ink sac of the pen was punctured because nobody bothered to clean the sac before putting it into a drawer.the town was near to Bannu city.i heared someone was there who could repair the pen.well, i got to that so-called repairman but what he did was breaking the metal barrel/sac guard with black plastic end.

Later though, i was able to find another filler, alongwith sac,for my pen but it was not like the earlier one..the inscripyion on this filler read "press ribbed bar 4 times " while the same on the original read "...6 times".the instruction for use of ink also differed.also the new filler was of rouded end n lacked the black plastic end.

The cap was like those of earlier vacumatic versions n so was the clip.it is 14 k gold filled.the lines pattern on the cap is 5 lines convrerging into one at the top.there are two rounded holes on the nib...one small and tte other relativly big alongwith a squre cut at the top.it is also inscribed 14 k gold and made in usa.

the date code is something like this or better say i could read it like this without the magnifying glass " T MAM 1"..the cap jule jewl of the cap is also missing.

the pen is excellent writer...and a beauty to look at.

I wonder if such cap , clip were used on the aeromatic 51?reviews on the pen woud b much appreciated.forgot to mention the pen clour is forest green.

Here are some pictures of the pen

i wonder if such cap, klip .

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
