Pisuke2005 ...

Hopefully it's not against the rules to endorse individual ebay sellers.

This guy is incredible though. It of course helps that his prices are way below what you'd expect to pay stateside (and he has access to stuff we can't even get here), but it's the little things, like:

I've had two orders with him recently and in both cases I was going a bit outside the box. The first one was fairly trivial : I wanted the pen in a different color, which I knew existed, but wasn't listed.

The second time I ordered two pens and was going back and forth on the nibs (and even changed my mind after the order was in), added in a different converter, etc.

Through all that he'll just work with you, making sure you are happy and on top of *all* that the pen was in my hands in little over 48 hours after he dropped them off at the post office.

In Tokyo.

Then there is the little personalized notes, gift wrapping, etc. And the tea.

Needless to say, he'll have all of my future business in any aspect that has to do with Japanese writing materials

-k

PS: For the record : Pilot soft-medium nibs are dreamy. Of course now I want a SFM and SF too. A vicious cycle, I'll tell you ...

I've ordered from him as well. Incredibly quick shipping. It was something like 3 days from Tokyo to NY. Prices are great and he is a pleasure to deal with. As you mentioned, he will work with you even if the item you want is not listed.

I've also had great experience buying pens from him. He readily helped me to procure pens that were not listed on his site. He may be a little slower in replying emails (give about 2-3 days sometimes) as he has a full time job and runs the ebay shop alone, as he explained to me once when he had to handle some pressing issues. Great guy who's ever so helpful and without any airs. Two thumbs up!

Just to add, I've no affiliations with him. :)

I've ordered several pens from him and I'm a very-very happy customer.

Count me in.

To be honest: after all the experience with other japanese sellers, I changed from "ok, I want that pen - let's check who has it" to "ok, I want a new pen - let's see what pisuke has on stock..."

I just received my new Platinum 3776 on Saturday...

I have also had a good experience from this seller. I don't have an eBay account, so couldn't leave feedback there, but am happy to do so here.

I find pisuke2005 to be an OUTSTANDING vendor to purchase from.

Recent Illustration:

I ordered a Pilot Fountain Pen from him on 10/2/14...

It just arrived today 10/7/14 - from Japan to New Hampshire

I did not order expedited shipping

Item exactly as ordered, packaged incredibly well for the trip..

A nice thank-you note and a gift of some Japanese Tea...

Pisuke2005 is my vendor of choice for Japanese Pen co products.

Pisuke is the only ebayer of Japanese pens I deal with.

Made eight orders from pisuke2005. Extremely satisfied with his service! My only complaint is green tea dependence :) .

Well, eBay tells me 0 results when I type in "pisuke" or "pisuke2005." Any trick to it, or is it just on USA eBay he doesn't come up?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
