Kwzi Ink - North American Group Buy

Hello All… This is the highly anticipated KWZI – Group Buy !!!

The Ink Master:

Hi, I am Konrad. I love writing with fountain pens - I very often just scribble whatever comes to my mind, just to relax. I'm quite sure that many fountain pen users do the same as me.

I'm a chemist, both from passion and profession. I always tried to use fountain pen to write notes in my laboratory, but in my work, I always use vast amount of water, organic solvents and etc. So from time to time I accidentally smeared a page with wet hand, or spilled chloroform on journal. I kept looking for waterproof inks - and I came on Iron-Gall inks, I was charmed with them, how they change the color and how they look after some time. I made my first ink - which was pretty simple and wasn't too god, but I got the idea that I can make ink of whatever properties and color I would like.

I had made my first ink two and half years ago, and during this time I came quite long road, from most basic inks to some quite fine and complicated formulas. My addiction with fountain pens (let's be honest with ourselves ;) ) moved a bit from looking for perfect fountain pens to looking for perfect dye composition, correcting flow and other properties in my inks. I have to be honest that after ~80 trials with one specific ink, and it still wasn't stable I wanted to throw everything out the window. But something around the 90th trial it worked! :) Today I have quite large number of inks of different types in many colors - and I haven't said the last word.

So I'm Konrad I'm addicted to inks and I want to show you my work :)

Thanks, because I can't find any bottles online.

Sorry for blurriness... is almost 5 am here. I'll post a better one once I had some sleep.

What about European buyers? Seems rather disappointing for those actually nearer to kwzi. Unless of course my two emails to Konrad simply disappeared.

Happy for those in North America though!

If there will be enough time before shipping, than one or two of those inks might magically appear in your box ;)

Ink making is simply too time consuming and I have PhD on the finish :(

I have a lot of tape - and I won't hesitate to use it!

Thanks! and never fear, I think I was the last one to get in on the open list, so I was still lucky!

Really looking forward to this, and if there's a chance to get #23 especially, I will be on cloud 9...

Thanks team Kwzi for doing this. Wonderful work.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
