risingsun
One of the things that surprised me about the price list is that the CP1 in stainless was more expensive than the L2K
LamyOne
Hello JF Lamy Collection, Thank you posting this - very informative and very interesting. You can see traces of the Studio in the Profil. 33 Marks for a 2000 - my, oh my, how times have changed. risingsun
Hi LamyOne, Englishman no, but close. That is American James Abbott McNeill Whistler, the well known artist/etcher. This portrait etching was done by a personal favorite of mine, Englishman Mortimer Menpes, contemporary and sometimes friend of Whistler. Thank you for commenting. soapytwist
Sorry - had one eye on Match Of The Day - All fixed now. Yes, surprising that the steel CP1 is more expensive than the 2000, but until this century the 2000 was quite reasonably priced - I bought my pen in the mid-nineties and I'm pretty sure it was only the equivalent of UK£50. Certainly when this catalogue was produced it wasn't yet seen as a 'classic' by the company. Also surprised by how many out of the catalogue I had! https://www.flickr.com/photos/19134612@N02/14944550925/ "Truth can never be told, so as to be understood, and not be believ'd."
