Franklin-Christoph 19 Black With Cherry Ice Bands

I received my M19 with a Masuyama Broad Stub a few weeks ago. There were some skipping issues and was advised by F-C to give it a wash which I did and it's adorable now, as are the other F-C pens I have. The pen is of an ideal size and with faultless ergonomics.

Some four days ago, I risked converting it to an ED and thus far, it's held without leaks or any other snafu :)

A great feature of a purchase from F-C is that they FedEx it to you. I've always tracked the direct Memphis-Dubai flight too :D

Sorry i have been away for a while.

This is my daily writing pen since my purchase...

This is an awesome pen! I have this pen in the "Pendleton Special edition" with the green bands. The size, shape and weight of this pen is just about perfect!

I agree….

I love the size and its light weight..

Great review! I got the link for the FC website from a post here on FPN, and have been hooked ever since.

I have the 19 with gold bands, a 25 Eclipse with smoke bands and a Smoke and Ice 02 Intrinsic, all with broad steel nibs. The quality and writing experience of these pens are excellent, as well as the prompt free international shipping.

Enjoy your 19!

Thank you perfaddict..

I admire your number of fc pens. So far i am enjoying my 19 so much i haven't looked into getting another pen...

thw, thank you for this fantastic review. I saw this pen at the Ohio Pen Show, almost bought one, but didn't, wanted to investigate further. Your review has helped tremendously. I'm understanding from what you say you're pleased with the cherry ice bands and that they don't stick out and steal attention from the over all lines of this great looking pen. Like you said, the pics on their website look kind of loud to me too,but I really like the way yours looks. I also appreciate your through critique of the nib. I like cursive italic nibs, I don't have one from Masuyama though. You did a good job with your review, well written! Thank you.

God Bless;

JGT

You are most welcome...

I have both the Model 19 and the Model 3 with the 1.1 sized nib. Both pens write really well. Love the feeling of them in my hand. Nice review, thanks. If you don't have one, you definitely should give one of them a drive.

John

Hi John,

I am thinking of getting one of the factory nib…. Unfortunately this is a pen that one can try during the penshow but not in store..

Oh, lovely review! I have only one FC right now, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! They are made locally and my husband and I always enjoy speaking with the guys at their table at the Raleigh Pen Show every year. Awesome company and love their nib options!

Agree..

Service is first class..

The fc pen tray is awesome too...

Sounds like the Cherry Ice version must be the top seller: I've got one, too. Mine has the standard steel nib, though, and it's a great writer. I'll get one of those Masuyama gold versions someday!

Anybody else backorder one in the new Smoky Gray color? They should be shipping any day now. If I remember correctly, the expected date was Dec. 3.

Thanks for your post..

I just find out there is another exciting colour for 19..

Thanks for your review! This pen is on my wishlist. So looking forward to it after your review. :)

It is a great pen..

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
