(I C U) Ink Review - Susemai - Green Diamond

This ink really needs to be at 12% concentration or less. When I had it at 16%, it had some issues. At 8% it is not showing any of the bad behaviors.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That's great news, I will dilute it and review!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

I couldn't let Visvamitra outdo me!! Green Diamond combines the dark/light green with both black and yellow tones, great shading and snap ---- sheen! A wild ride on a bucking brumbie! Thanks to Amberlea for the great paper.

I really like this ink. I know it is similar to Diamine Kelly Green, but I think it was easier to clean.

It's a little bright for me for everyday use, but I can see me using this for a few days, especially in February, when everything is gray and dreary.

I've been impressed with how easy all of the Susemai inks are to clean, actually. I hope they stay that way.

Don't believe everything you think.

My ink splatters never look as cool as visvamitra's, but here's what came from my pen before I cleaned it yesterday.

I've decided he must use some kind of mechanical devise to achieve them, like a blender, power drill or chainsaw. Actually, he might use all three, in ascending order of rpm's!

I'm starting to think that all ink splatters look cool, so long as they are not on my desk or papers.

Color is simply stunning and extremely saturated. Much better than Caran d'Ache Amazon. Unhaoppily it is too DRY. Cyber6 mentioned that the powsder is forgiving but I'm not really into ink mixing. I like fluids. I don't need a bottle, give me sample, make all the mixing work and I'm happy and grateful :)

Anyway - if this ink hits the shops and maintains this level of saturation and much better lurication and flow I'll definitely need it. However now I know I won't be interested in the powder. I understand it's pactical, cheaper to send and so on. What can I say? I just don't want powder.

I really don't know what's up.... All the inks I've unless they are too diluted ... have been wet. This problem may well be a non issue with the new powders. I just think it is odd because I think this is from the batch that I sent you.

@Dead_brackets - your ink splatter is fantastic!

Thanks! I don't think they're nearly as impressive as yours - I really like the splash look that you get!

Don't believe everything you think.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
