Which pen give you the best writing feedback? Famous examples, Aurora :lticaptd:

I have a Parker 51 Vac that I bought from someone who had had it tuned by a nibmeister. He asked for it to be smooth with some feedback. No other pen in my collection writes quite like that one. It's my go to pen for lectures and conferences.

A specialty nib has my vote: though the feel varies on account of this being a hand-finished nib, the Naginata Togi nib on Sailor pens are often described as having the same feedback as a very fine grit (not sure if that's the right word for it) pencil. Now, as I grew up using a mechanical pencil for notes and exams when I could (always hated having to press down hard on ballpoints), the Naginata nibs sounded like the obvious choice for me. And so I got one last November. While it isn't as smooth as some of my German pens, it gets the most use of any in my collection. I freaking love the feedback!

A Montblanc Danish made 204. Some flex and the perfect amount of feedback. The nib just sings across the page.

The Aurora Optima is my choice for a wicked good writing experience. Another nib I adore for it's tooth is on my TWSBI Mini Classic.

My Sailor music nib. It's smooth, but not. It sounds like a felt tip pen when you hold it like a music nib should be held, which always makes me smile inside.

Yes, there is a little feedback with my Heritage. It is a fine nib and writes wonderfully. The nib is springy and soft.

I just got an Aurora 88, and I now understand what people are talking about. Lots of feedback, but not the "my nib is stuck" that a bad nib fees. It's almost pencily feeling. Except, you know, semi-flex.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
