Cool! Thank you for posting.

I have a Platinum Balance that has a clear section/feed and the view is similar to this when the pen is first filled. Fun.

TWSBI posted a similar video (at 2:15) of their tests.

Thanks to VirtuThe3rd for posting it, and you for linking. He has posed a lot of very informative videos about Japanese pen makers listed in this thread too.

I bought a Sailor with a transparent feed for the very same reason. Really cool. :-)

Very cool video!

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

Nice! I'd love to see this effect on a clear / white feed through a clear section.

There are several interesting things in this video -

  • The capillary action of the feed.
  • How the cap ring is pressure fit
  • How the nib/feed is inserted into the section - which is exactly how I do it - nothing magic...

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
