If I've already added you then you should have them soon. I'm closing the list for the first four samples.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

There's something special about this one. This one's a keeper.

It lays down a beautifully rich almost black line and splits into dark blues and magentas when washed. Yum.

No feathering seen, even on cheapo paper. Well done Mr or Mrs Susemai.
Amber, thanks again.

Hmm. Not sure I like how it's come out on this Seawhite watercolour paper.

With hindsight I shouldn't have used a wash. Grrr.

I'm REALLY liking the colour of the line though. Really rich and dark. Some sheen too for those that like that sort of thing.

A bit of nib dry out does sadly occur after only a short while left uncapped but hey ho, can't have everything.

At 16% it looks like a dark lavender which is rare, I think it would fill a void if marketed.

Thank you for letting me test drive this ink! I think I  it.

Just don't let Susemai change the hue, it's just right for a dark Lavender. Aubergines we have plenty.

I detailed my adventures with the Black balled and Blue cashmere samples in my black balled post; here I will just post my writeup on Blue cashmere.

I forgot to put the little shopping cart on the sheet - well it's a little small it wouldn't fit - but Would I buy it? YES! If only for the fantastic color change, and a chance to play more and see what else it will do. I've seen it change color from teal/turquoise to purple to blue. I trailed some very diluted drops from the pipette onto my notebook (not shown here) and it went on turquoise, and before my eyes, very slowly, turned purple. Then when I came back to the page the next day, I'm seeing it more as blue...

I compared it to some other inks:

I will be mailing [some of] my scans to Amber - hopefully the mail monster won't swallow them up.

Thanks Team Susemai for this opportunity to play with inks. Bring on the next batch! I am cleaning my pens...

  • 3 weeks later...

Here are my scans for the ink labeled "Susemai Blue (1st) Cashmere." Notice that there is no scan of the show-thru/bleed-thru side of the cheap paper -- that's because there was none! However, this ink was awfully dark, leading me to believe that it may be too concentrated. I have cut the concentration by 50%, and I'll run a new test tomorrow, if I have time. In the morning we're going to visit a cousin who is dying of cancer, and in the afternoon I have to drive to Birmingham for a horn lesson. I may be retired, but that doesn't mean that I'm not busy!

Yes it does... Blue Cashmere always looked purple-ish to me.. I wonder if with more dilution looks more blue.
