Recently Bought A Montblanc Meisterstuck Diamond Legrand Pen. Help!

Hey guys, so I recently bought the pen that I have described in the title from Ebay, it was the ballpoint version. I'm trying to get a refund on it because I believe to have been duped or ripped off.

Now I was to believe that the serial number on the clip is supposed to match the one supplied in the certification booklet and the handbook. They do not, however the seller assures me this pen came straight from a registered retailer and has not been tampered with.

The clip number in the paperwork is PW2344002.

The number on the actual pen clip is XW1058636.

Surely this means that the clip has either been changed or the paperwork is to a different pen. Am I wrong to think this? Is there something special with the diamond ones or am I right?

Thankyou

Ben

Take it to a boutique. They could tell you whether the pen is authentic.

In the meantime...

If you have any doubts, put in a Paypal claim.

You aren't wrong to think this. I would certainly get it authenticated.

It may be as simple as the fact that the boutique had more than one and supplied the wrong box & warranty booklet when the pen was sold.

This was not the one I sold, so breathe easy, but I did recently sell one with exactly the same problem. The number on the clip matched the number on the outer box, but not the number on the certificate (which was just numbers without the 2 letter prefix). I realised the problem when I first acquired it and took it a localjewellers who are the local MB ADs.They confirmed it was genuine and put it down to an error by the shop who originally sold it. I then contacted the shop by email, gave themthe clip and box number, date of purchase etc and they got back to me to confirm that they had sold that pen on that date and apologised for the error. I put this pen up for sale, and sold it,but made it quite clear in the listing.

I would think that it was a simple error, but lazy on the part of the person who sold it to you.

ps

The Diamond one I had came with a very distinctive, large, Booklet/Card,is yours the same? If not,the booklet may not be original to the pen.

If the pen is authentic and it was purchased over two years ago (out of warranty) I see it the same as just not having the booklet at all. Even if it were correct, it wouldn't be needed for servicing. But I too would be irritated not having it right.

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Were I you, I would probably just try to get my $$ back. It seems like a sticky situation and the seller should have disclosed this type of information to you. The pen could be 100% authentic, but I know the diamond LeGrands aren't cheap and I would want a prime specimen if I were forking over that much money. I wish you luck!

Take it to the jewelry shop also, they can tell you whether Diamond is Genuine or not .

Advise contact seller and ask for Clarification.
