Private Reserve: Dakota Red Musings

I was playing around with one of my new flex pens and I thought this ink looked kind of neat.

There wasn't much shading at all, but the color is nice and bright. Red without any other colors I could see. Maybe a little pinkish? It reminded me of J. Herbin's Rouge Opera, but saturated to the point where I could stand it. Rouge Opera looks washed out to me. post-101589-0-33621000-1401386952_thumb.jpgpost-101589-0-03924500-1401386960_thumb.jpgpost-101589-0-84579900-1401386967_thumb.jpg

Your penmanship is beautiful.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I like Dakota Red a lot too. In my mind, it's always been in the reddish brown category. Hmmm ... more a brownish red, actually. Whichever, it's a very nice color and well-behaved ink.

You can show us your "practice" anytime. It's pleasing to look at.
