Krone Identification

Recommended Posts

Picked up these two Krones at an auction some time ago. I'm not a Krone guy at all, so I'm in the dark as to their history. Tried to search online, but since they bear no real markings that I can find (like I said I'm a noob to Krone), I haven't found anything close to definitive.

All help is appreciated in regards to any ID suggestions!!

That's one of the GoDaddy line. Don't know they color name, but that should get you to the appropriate pics on the Krone website.

They're user grade, but there's no such thing as a bad Krone. There are a variety of excellent user grades out there, some costing less when new. Remember this brand has a lifetime warranty and honors it if you need repairs. The nibs are fabulous on the whole.

Point taken - just would never see the correlation between an ultra high-end goods manufacturer and a lowest price web hosting company.

One pays for the other?

All i know is I grab Krones in my nib sizes whenever I can. They're awesome writers, reliable, have good service to back them up and many of the finishes are incredibly beautiful. If you ever nab one of their rare stubs, you will know the meaning of fabulous.

Thank you - appreciate the help! You do make good points, and also with these, since they're already lightly used, I'll throw them into my usage rotation!!

Should hold up well. Worst I ever had go wrong was a piston leak on a captured convertor model after 10 year's regular service and they had it fixed and back to me in comparable time to MB at no charge other than postage.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
