100Ml Herbin Bottles Discontinued?

Recommended Posts

I just tried to order some 100ml Lie de Thé, but found none of the shops I usually order from has any left. The writing desk also lists all 100ml Herbin bottles as discontinued - the note is new though, as it wasn't in place when I last got a bottle Poussière de Lune some weeks ago. Can anyone confirm this? A quick google search on the topic revealed nothing.

Edit: Changed 'ink' in the title to 'bottle' as the inks continue to exist in their 30ml variants of course, just the 100ml bottles might be gone.

Why don't they make e.g. 50ml as 30m' is a little small however 100ml may be too much for me.

Ah, I was afraid that might be the answer :/ Knew I should have picked one up last month.

I don't much care for buying 100ml either, but I really hate their small 30ml ones, they are so horrible to refill from. And the ml/money rate is a little better on the 100ml bottles too.

50mL would be a perfect size. I have a bottle of Poussiere de Lune in 100mL that I picked up recently. The value was great but it really is a scary amount of ink in one bottle.

Just wondering, was the 100mL shaped the same as the 30mL bottle? That is, did it also have the built-in pen rest?

I picked up a 30mL bottle of the Poussiere de Lune and now understand why everyone says it becomes a pain to fill from. I think a 50mL to 60mL size bottle would be nice.

One thing I have noticed with the J. Herbin inks (I've only tried 2 of them) is that they seem to run out faster. Maybe it is my imagination. They're thinner so I feel like I use up more of it to get the same "mileage' of writing on the page. What I mean is that I can write about 75% the amount on a page with J. Herbin inks than with, for example, a Diamine ink. Maybe this is what y'all mean by "flow"?

Yep, I'd say so. That's flow. J. Herbin flows exceptionally well.

Herbin inks are what I like to call "slippery". Beautiful muted shading also.

Goulet still has them @ $22. I may have to pick up a few before they go, this is by far my favorite black.

What other Herbin inks exhibit similar flow properties?

Yes, 100 ml is economically better, not mention makes easier to refill, but in the last you can use syringe to refill.. They not give me a chance to stock up my favorite colors for my life... but honestly using only few inks made me boring (even using my favorite ones) .. when I had only 9 different color, that was boring, now I have 32 (I know, its only 32, will collect more ;) ) and its much more fun. So, maybe is not as bad, its help saving unmercenary amount of ink purchases..

I was disappointed to find this out too, it's not the volume so much as that the 30ml bottles are such a pain to fill from. You'd think someone at Herbin would realise...

Or maybe they are cutting of the non registered retailers? someone has to ask J. Herbin representative if this is true.

if not Anderson Pens, goulet pens and isellpens will be your only valid source for 100ml inks?

Lol I just checked the french site of J.herbin

who wants 1000ml of pigmented black ink LOL

just kidding they still have 100ml inks so it maybe a wild case of curbing non-retailers? ask your local distributor for J. Herbin inks for more info that's my best bet

they also have 250 ml and 50ml (heart shaped bottles)

Well, the offical european retailers I checked (those listed on the jherbin.com page) all only got none or limited stock left. None one got Lie de Thé, but most other colors seem to be available at the one or other retailer in limited quanity. I am not sure I really like the color that much I would import it from the US though ;) Especially since I still get the 30ml bottles.

It would seem odd they still supply American retailers though and not European ones, seeing they are based here.

Meh. I was actually hoping to see Vert Empire in a 100ml bottle one day, but I guess the 100ml might only have been an experiment on herbin's part.

That heart shaped bottle is evil. No pen fits in it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Just wait it could be logistics problem or something happened with J. Herbin could be another case of a "slime" like incident
