Greetings followers!

We are glad to introduce the new Pelikan Classic 200 Cognac Special Edition.

Not only it has a new shiny colour, which is transparent cognac, but also its harmonic structure, made of high-quality resin and gold plated trims. This is reinforced with its stainless steel nib, also gold plated. It is available in 5 different sizes, including the very popular italic nib.

Yes that is very nice indeed. Any ideas of a release date and price in the UK? Will the Italic nib be available in the UK?

I had been hoping to save up for a big pen purchase towards the end of the year, but if this one isn't silly money, I think I might have to re-do my budget... I honestly can't think how they could have made it look any better.

Beautiful pen! We need this pen in the M800 or M1000 size.

I love the translucent 200's, especially this color, but they are too small for me to use comfortably.

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

Is there any difference between the Cognac and Amber colour?

I can't tell any difference. Only way to tell for sure is to compare them side by side. The only difference I can see between this pen and the amber demo is that the crown is gold plated instead of blacken brass. The price is also going a lot higher (I paid $50 for the amber demo when it was new.)

Well I couldn't resist such a lovely pen. I have pre-ordered with IguanaSell, who I must say have been really great to deal with. I'm also grateful they posted up here with details (and beautiful pictures :puddle: ) of the pen. (No affiliation etc etc)

Oh, for those interested I went for the italic nib.

Now I just have to wait, roll on May...

Thanks

I will reply via PM if that's ok, not sure if IguanaSell would want me to publish their price without permission...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
