That pink gold 149 looks great.

And it has the same price tag as a normal 149!

Damn! I've bought a regular 149, silly me. Had I waited two more months, I could have got this beauty instead! :gaah:

I'd love to see a close-up of the 149 nib in pink gold.

Sorry, did I hear you correctly...you have every last one of the WEs but you DON'T have a 149? :yikes:

I know I'm in the minority of MB collectors who do not have a 149.

I have a Starwalker, a 147 and a Heritage 1912 as my "standard edition" fountain pens.

When I was collecting the backlog of WE pens any spare pen cash went on getting these. Since completing the WE collection, any spare cash so far as been spent on cycling (this is even more expensive than MB collecting).

I've never really had a need for a 149, I couldn't tell you for example when the 147 was last used (or even where it is stored). I even gave away a set of (3) Classique pens as they were never used.

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

I'm just clicking on the link in the original post. It opens normally.

Edit: oh, wait, I've refreshed it, and it's gone. :D

Glad I could help :)

Thought of doing that as well, but decided not to. As I didn't want to cause the store any trouble by having it's name linked to the shown content.

Nice, not too sure about the JFK looks kind of weird. But it's good to see that they're bringing back the generation line now named as the cruise, only if it came in a fountain pen as well. I guess they realized the needed something more entry level than a meisterstuck. Looking forward to all their release dates.

The 90th is suppose to come out sometime in April. I would still like to see if there is a MOP star. The nib is slated to only have the 90 on it. There are no graphics the way the 75th had. This is what i was told though.

KJY, thank you for posting the information. Some of these certainly look stunning and I will be keeping an eye out for them.

Isaacrn I'm sorry to disappoint you; but I'm 100% certain that only the solitaire comes with the MOP star. The price; the lack of it being mentioned in the text; and the fact that Montblanc would devalue the 75th edition; not to mention anger and dissapoint a huge portion of their collector clientele lead me to believe so. I'm afraid that your only choice will be to buy the 75th edition 149 if you want that rose trim in combination with the MOP.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
