Where To Buy Midori Tn In Fukuoka Or Tokyo?

Recommended Posts

I'll be in Japan for 3 weeks in May, starting in Fukuoka and making my way up to Sendai and leaving from Tokyo.

I checked the Japanese online prices for Midori Travel Notebooks and they're quite a bit cheaper than the online prices here (not surprising of course). I'd really like to buy my Midori in a brick and mortar shop there though, as that way it will be a great reminder of my trip that I'll use every day.

So my question is, are they widely available in stationary stores or do I need to research where to buy it beforehand? If so, any suggestions in Fukuoka and or Tokyo, as I'll be spending 4-5 days in both those towns?

Thanks so much!

I use pencils.jp for my online ordering, but I believe they have a Brick and Mortar store in Tokio. Japanese friends, please correct me if I've misspoken. mymaido. stocks them in San Francisco and does an online business too. Enjoy the trip, Jim

The TN is very popular and can be found in most major department stores with stationery sections. But if you are in Tokyo, a great place to buy it is at Itoya, which is in the heart of Ginza. Six floors of Japanese stationery heaven... You will dream about that place long after you've returned home.

Reminds me of the Tokyu Hands department store in Shibuya. So much fun. :)

Thanks all!

I just read about Sekaido in Shinjuku, another 6 floor art supply store. I'm traveling ultra light with just a day pack, but I'm thinking I may have to buy a small suitcase just for art supplies :D

Sekaido has a huge selection too. However dont get lured in by their "20% off" sales. Most of their prices are marked up higher than normal in the first place.
