Indian Paper Journals

Looking for a little advice on journals.

I've seen quite a few leather bound journals on ebay and a few I have liked very much and been tempted to buy. However, most of the ones I liked said the paper was Indian made from cloth (cottons?). I'm wondering if anyone has used any of this type of paper and if they would be happy to share their experience. I resisted buying on the basis that the paper might feel scratchy and bleed or feather very considerably, but maybe I have misunderstood the 'cloth' aspect.

Thanks

I've only ever used lined notebooks or filler paper made in India, but that paper is excellent, and very inexpensive. No experience with what you describe... Hopefully others will have & speak up.

Good luck!

Paper was made from cotton rag for long before it was made from wood pulp.

A high quality cotton rag paper is much better than anything that can be made from wood pulp.

Some hand made papers are not suitable for fountain pen use. You must confirm with the seller if the paper is suitable for use with a fountain pen or a "Ink pen" as it is commonly called here. HTH.
