Does The Pilon Vanishing Point Have Curve Nib

I just bought a Pilot Vanishing Point (Capless) with F nib from www.pencils.jp
The pen I received have curved nib like the picture I attached.
I send an email to the website since last Friday but they did not reply me whether it is normal or not.
Is it normal for this type of pen to have curve nib?

Sorry to say, but depending on how much you paid for that pen, you might have been conned.

 

It's not biggie to straighten out a nib (despite my lack of motor skill, I've managed to restore a pen of mine that took a fairly painful fall to working condition once), but the fact that the seller posted what was quite obviously a damaged item for sale is just unethical. And pretty mean, if you don't mind my saying so.

 

Anyway, was it described as damaged in the listing? You have every reason to get p'ed off at the seller if they tried to pass it off as a "curve" nib :/

Thank you for all your suggestions.
The problematic pen is a brand new one I ordered from www.pencils.jp for 15,020 Yens (approximately $150).
It came in a legit Pilot box and in plastic sealed package so I was also shocked when I first opened the package.
I am still have faith in the e-shop because they promise to contact their distributor for me, but maybe not for long since it took them a week already.

Will update the progress.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have to even wait for that. They sent you a faulty product so you should be given a refund or an exchange now not after they have talked to there distributor and wasted your time.

Updating on my problem.

I contacted with the store manager through emial since the first day I received the pen.
At first they seem to be willing to help. But, since last Wednesday they stopped emailing back to me.
Today I contacted PayPal throgh email and they called me back. Hope I can atleast get a refund.

It's a long shot, but maybe if you contact Pilot they can help you out. Since you said it came sealed.

I already called them, Pilot company in Thailand do not import or service the fountain pen anymore, they even withdraw all the shops from department stores.

 

On the progress....They send an email to me today, said their rule is I have to send back the pen first then they will send it to Pilot in Japan to do the repair and will send it back to me.

This kind of rules is absurd to me. :(

That is sort of absurd, would they charge you for repairs?

Your pen looks like it's been used in a drunken darts match, mate.

 

Demand, rather than ask for, a refund.

 

Then buy another one from a legitimate seller.

 

They're having you on.

Hopefully getting Paypal involved will help. That's one of the best things about Paypal, that they are very willing to stick up for you as a buyer, and make sure you at least get your money back. For all intents and purposes, you have a completely unusable item, essentially destroyed. You got ripped off on this deal, and hopefully Paypal will take care of you. It sounds like the seller wants nothing to do with making it right. if they were a stand up business, they would send you a replacement, and pay for the shipping for you to return it. Whether they send the pen back to Pilot to be repaired should be their problem not yours.

Last Wednesday I offered them that I would send the pen back to them and ask if they give me the refund as soon as the package shiped out. The refunding money I asked includes the pen's cost, the duty tax I already paid and the shipping cost.

On Saturday, they emailed me and said that they can only give me the refund ONLE when they received the package. At least, they agreed to pay all the cost I asked. So, I send the pen back to them today.

Will see if they will keep their promise.
I have all the email send back and forth with them and I took a lot of photos and video when I packed and sent the package. If problem occurred, PayPal may still be able to help me.

Conclusion....
PayPal helped me claim back my money.
While the process had been going on, I ordered another vanishing point from www.nibs.com. The pen arrived today and I am very happy with it.

Good for you! I'm glad that the issue was resolved and you now know what a VP nib should look and write like.

While I agree that it is almost certainly damaged, I could imagine another possibility: Could it perhaps be a posting nib? I don't know if Pilot ever offered that in VPs.

That was not a posting nib.
