Toronto Pen Show: Date & Location Announcement

Recommended Posts

We are pleased to announce the Scriptus Toronto Pen and Writing Show, to be held November 2, 2014.

It is exciting to have a pen & writing show in Toronto again, the first since 2010. The plans are exciting: pens, old and new; fine papers, stationery and greeting cards; inks of every colour and kind. We plan to have over thirty vendors in attendance, from far and wide. There will be something for everyone, and then some!

The venue is fabulous. The Appel salon—located on the second floor of the Toronto Reference Library—is both world-class, and the premier location for literary and specialty events in downtown Toronto. Just steps from the hub of the transit system, and close to one of the major traffic arteries, it is convenient for everyone. (And on a Sunday, traffic in minimal and parking is cheap!) In a newly-renovated space, and with a first-class coffee shop downstairs, Scriptus will be an enjoyable day for all.

How can you keep up with Scriptus news and announcements? We are on Twitter (@ScriptusToronto), Facebook, and on the official Scriptus blog: http://www.scriptustoronto.com. (A spot in the sidebar puts you on our mailing list, to be notified right away when we post announcements.) Details to come include exhibitors lists, sponsorship opportunities, admission charge, and more.

Yay - I now have a reason to come back to TO in November!

Good luck with getting the show up & running again. It's been a while since there's been a show in Toronto (nevermind in Canada) so I'm sure there will be a lot of interest. You might want to get the show listed on Susan Wirth's 2014 pen show calendar so it becomes 'official'. ;)

Since I have little opportunity to visit pen shows anywhere in the USA, having one come to Toronto is very encouraging indeed. Though I live a good distance from TO, I'll make every attempt to attend.

It sounds like it is progressing well. I hope more exhibitors will sign up early. This should be a great show.

Very exciting - I'm new to the addiction and have not yet been to a pen show. I'm not sure if there are typically speakers and presentations or if it's a more informal show and tell environment but look forward to the even either way. Does anyone know if there is there a list of presenters or display booth attendees etc?

Will Laywines and Wonder Pens be in attendance?

Will anyone be selling custom leather products?

Will there be pen trading happening?

Will there be journal sales?

Do you think it will be the event of the year for Toronto?

Come on....leak just a little information for everyone so they mark the calendars for the event or come out to buy a new calendar orgnizer and analog input device of their choice (please be fountain pens lol).

Uh: yes, don't know yet, yes, up to each vendor and attender, yes, undoubtedly!

Anything else, within reason?

I'm super excited about it. I totally plan to offload some inks I don't use frequently as samples at the table where I'll sell TR paper stationery. I really REALLY want to move some unloved ink bottles out of my house. I'm seriously running out of space!

Unloved? You know they can hear you!

I think what you really mean is: I want to make more room for more ink.

I am sure they will not last long on your table.

Exactly. Why keep a 60mL bottle of ink that I only like enough to use once a year? That's A LOT of years for the bottle to be taking up space in my cabinet when I'm already running out of room.

Hence, an ink sample sale. :)

I am sure they will not last long on your table.

First in line at Saskia's table - called it!

(Ouch! Mags - you've got sharp elbows... ;) )
