TheAkwardNinja
I am looking for a nice, formal and warm purple. A purple that is composed, but at the same time personal. I don't want something that pops out and is hard to read. Maybe something on a darker side, but nothing bright or light. Shading is not really necessary. I will be using Goulet Sampling (no affiliation). Thanks for the recommendations!!!!! And Merry Christmas!!!! -Ave María, grátia pléna, Dóminus técum. Joane
I know what you mean about not too bright. To my eye, Waterman Tender Purple fits the description of what you are looking for. Happiness is a real Montblanc...
PaperDarts
Diamine Bilberry? DeAtrementis Aubergine? Or Private Reserve Ebony Purple if you want to go darker. FountainPenCowgirl
I'd second the motion for DA Aubergine. Warm, rich, lovely. Plays well w/multiple pens in my collection. Worked miracles w/one I had trouble breaking in. Oh, and yes. Ebony Purple. Probably too dark for what you're seeking, but a fantastic ink. amberleadavis
Organics Studio's Mark Twain / Haley's Comet is a blue but I think of it as purple, their Violet is also a great performer. Waterman purple was already suggested, and the Pilot/Iro purple is quite pretty. http://sheismylawyer.com/She_Thinks_In_Ink/Inklings/slides/2013-Ink_639b.jpg Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas). HandLikeAFist
J. Herbin, Violette Pensee, is a grown-up shade, not too glary or bright. I use it for everything, business included. But it might be a bit too light for you? Check out the Swab Shop on Goulet pens (no affil.)
da vinci
Just cracked open a bottle of OMAS purple. Found that excellent.

tomkeb
How does Diamine Imperial Purple behave? So far I haven't had any problems with it – wet, no nib creep, dries quickly, only it's not waterproof at all and, according to some reviews here, fades when exposed to UV radiation. I think it fits your requirements well: it's dark, moderately saturated and it doesn't scream PURPLE on the first sight. http://imageshack.com/scaled/large/16/k6ic.png
TheAkwardNinja
I have to check it out. Thanks!!! -Ave María, grátia pléna, Dóminus técum. Masque
If you can locate it, Kaweco Aubergine should fit the bill nicely. Diluting PR Ebony Purple is also a good option.
