brokenjukeboxx
Hi there, FPN! I'm still fairly new to the game, have used only a LAMY Safari with LAMY cartridges so far. Looking forward to recieving my first order from Goulet and really starting to enjoy fountain pens in all their glory! I recently bought a used Parker 61 (i think) and am looking to expand my collection. The Parker needs some work, I just posted about it over in the Parker forum. I love using fountain pens to journal, and have recently moved to doing all of my hand-writing with a fountain pen. I have used Moleskines in the past, but I'm currently using Ecosystem lined journals. I'm in IT by trade, but I have a love for fountain pens, typewriters, and old fashioned things. Here's a photo of my collection - LAMY Safari in Charcoal, EF Nib & Parker 61 in red? burgandy? in need of some love. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n305akkkq3ji8ye/2013-11-26%2012.22.24.jpg Thanks for dropping by! Everyone on here seems so lovely and kind.

Sasha Royale
Welcome ! You have an excellent pen in yoiuLAMY Safari. If you have a Parker 61, TWO.Look directly abov the nib. Is there a metal arrowhead imbedded into the plastic, or an impression, wheer the arrowhead use to be ? That's a Parker 61. Write with joy. Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn. Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen: Verweile doch, du bist so schön !
brokenjukeboxx
Thank you! Columbus is a great city. We have the pen show but no shops, unfortunately. If only it were year round! There is an arrow on the hood of the pen, so it must be a 61 in fact! I can't determine the color. The burgundy seems more purple, while this is a brick red. There is a small chip in the hood just above the nib, which probably happened when the nib was bent. Hopefully it doesn't affect performance. Thanks all for being welcoming! inkstainedruth
Howdy from Pittsburgh!I also got to the OPS, although just for Friday, sadly -- a prior commitment kept me from going the entire weekend (sigh).A good way to manage the site (there's a huge amount of information on here) is to read new content, which will give you a nice overview of topics.Fair warning though -- we are all a bunch of enablers on here, so keep a tight grip on your wallet (there are *way* too many opportunities for "Oooh shiny, want!"). I went from just a single (at the time misplaced and believed lost) pen that I *only* used for writing in my daily journal, and in the search for a replacement found my way here. And in less than two years I have gone from that one little Parker Vector to somewhere between 50 and 60, both new and vintage (including 4 more Vectors). We won't even talk about ink.... Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth "It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
