Storia - Wooden Pens, Hand Made In Italy

Storia is a new brand that I recently added in my website. It's a small company, located in Bolzano, the furthest north of Italy, where few skilled artisans work with special woods and produce beautiful pens.

Look:

Precious and exotic woods, like cocobolo, thuya, movingui, olive, palissandro. Fountain pens and rollerballs.

I published an article in my Blog, with an interview to Mr. Testa, owner, designer, artisan:

"If it’s true we write to remember, to prevent time to blur our memories, it’s also true the tool we use for writing can be itself an object belonging to history. Storia’s pens surely are. Storia is a company based in Bolzano, northern Italy, founded by a brave entrepreneur of Rome, Federico Testa. He designs and handcrafts his pens by himself, producing them in precious woods and metals: “Jewels for writing,” as he describes them. Indeed, there is much to be told about them.
(...)
Each of our pens is a unique and irreproducible object – Federico Testa explains -: the model can be the same in design, but it will always have its unique features. We are talking of handcrafted pens, made out of precious raw woods, chosen for their peculiar features of tenderness and resistance".

Each pen comes in a small wooden box, like the crates used for apples in the region (Trentino Alto Adige) where the company is located.
Inside, there is also a small sachet with shavings resulted from the turning of the pen. Some of the woods used are so scented that they're often used to perfume wardrobes.

I restore this old topic because Storia launched two different models: Parma and Fossile.

Parma is hand crafted with Turkish walnut wood, hand turned and refined.
The final result, therefore, is an always unique piece, because the wood veins are always different - and very visible, in the walnut wood - and each pen features different shades and decoration.

Fossile is a Special Edition, hand crafted from fossil oak wood, coming from Ukraine. Ukraine fossil oak wood lied under swamp's mud for 5000 years, and features a very tough consistence, unlike other swamp oaks. Its color may vary from a very deep brown to a raven-black.
Each pen comes with its radiocarbon dating certificate that attests its authenticity.

All them are packed in a raw wood box, inspired by a typical crate of apples from Trentino; it pleasantly contrasts with the dark, polished and higly refined pens.

Moreover, you can also separately buy the roller grip only, and easily exchange it to try all styles of writing. Two pens in one!

Cartridge/converter filled, steel nib.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
