Good point...

What did you do for lunch?

Prove it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Is there still any interest out there? I wouldn't mind starting a group. Perhaps Meetup.com would be a better place to organize though? I just realized I haven't looked there for a group as of yet. There could already be one!

I have been slaving away on a dissertation recently but might be interested in meeting up again some time soon!

Yeah, we could get our fingers dirty! Since we last met I think I have only one new pen (one on the way though) and no new inks. Waaaah.

Hey Reno people,

I haven't been around here for a while and was wondering if we should get together again.

It has been way too long since the first and last meeting we had

Yes! I have converted at least two other people! No one happened to end up with the Visconti Van Gogh after our last meeting did they. It has been missing since then :). I have many new pens and some new inks.

Was that a Van Gogh? I think the barrista put it on my saucer when he cleared our table. Such a shame.

I might have just spammed a ton of members (I think 8-9) that had their location listed anywhere in Northern Nevada. I think the 11th 12th may be a bit early, what about the 18th or 19th?

I would love to join y'all. Either weekend is good for me. I am busy on Saturday Mornings, but afternoons are great.

The 18th/19th have come and gone! I'm out of town this weekend, but I'm still eager to meet up. I have a bunch of ink, a syringe or two, and a dozen sample vials. It'd be fun to look at pens and swap ink. What do you think?

Oh man! I just ran across this thread. I am a Reno person, but am out on a consulting gig and won't be back until June-July. I would love to get involved in a Reno Pen Posse. Maybe I can Skype in when you all decide to get together. Let me know. You can also message me.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
