Here's a good dark green. I've been looking for something that was an actual dark *green*, and not just a muddy colored brownish, yellowish colored one. Not that there's not a place for a more earthy color, but I was really looking for a dark true green. This is a good one.

 

The color is so dark, it could with the right wet fine nib be mistaken for black with a bit of character. The green equivalent to blue-black.

 

This one dries quickly and has a Diamine wet flow.

Good review, and from my experience with this ink, I quite agree with your conclusion...indeed it is, a 'good dark green'. :thumbup:

Greens are possibly my favorite of inks...and this is particularly nice.

I really like Diamine Green-Black; I just wish it was more water resistant !

 

All my favourite Diamine inks (Oxblood, Imperial Purple, Twilight etc.) seem to have little or no water resistance :(

Yeah, I'm thinking of mixing with something with more water power. Don't see anything so far that's water resistant and dark green, rather than muddy greenish. Though at least this has some resistance. Not water *proof*, but it has some core that sticks it out on a simple splash.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

What's the difference between this & Salamander? Anyone had these side by side?

 

 

Salamander is just a totally different kind of ink. It looks gray, green, sepia, muddy depending on the paper and pen. Green Black is just what is says it is.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
