A lot of the MR pens take short international cartridges, but other than that, they are the same pen.

Mine actually comes with a rubber sac converter. It's nice and convenient to use.

After trying this wonderful pen, I actually want to try another inexpensive pen from Japan

although I don't have many cheap Japanese pens, I suspect you will be disappointed. The MR is just that good. Also the nib on the MR is in common with all the cheap steel nibbed pilot pens.

Take a step up, get a pilot 74 or similar . Can be had for under 100.

Seems the Justus is getting a lot of love on this forum. Guess I'll have to dig mine out and give it another try...

Too many pens; too little writing.

A new Platinum 3776 with a 14K BB (C ) nib. Platinum Blue Black ink from bottle. Glorious writer. I was painting letters today, instead of writing. Also the birdie BP and MP were used today.

Pilot MYU 701 inked with Pilot Blue.

And I'm using my Myu 90 today with OMAS Turquoise. It's been pretty much inked continuously with the same ink since I got it five years ago.

I hope your Myu 701 is treating you well, JDE.

I think this is your pen when it came to my shop for a checkup.

Dillon,

Yes, indeed it is the pen that you put into proper write-form for me!

I carry it everywhere with me, pretty much always inked with Pilot Blue (sometimes Pilot BB, but mostly Blue for some reason).

It is also a pen my good friend @trhall gifted me. And so I treasure it for that too.

It is my perfect note-taking pen. It is always in my pocket, or clipped to my shirt.

Best,

Julie

Wow, Dillon! Is that a recent picture of your M90? It's holding up very well. Love my M90!

So happy to hear you are enjoying your Myu, Julie. Your article about your note-taking pen journey was neat to read. Who knew that type of pen is why you started down the fountain pen path!

The Myu pen line is a timeless design.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
