Has anyone used or seen PR Black Magic Blue? I'm thinking of getting a bottle and just wanted to get some feed back on it first.

Thanks,

Bryan

I love the blue black color.

It is more navy than a Waterman Blue Black.

When I wiped off the excess ink and did a water test, it shows that it has traces of lavender in the mixture.

The flow is fast on this ink. I have inked 2 pens with this ink : VP and Parker 51 SE and they all write great = )

I went out and bought a bottle. Once I got it home I inked up my Sheaffer. I must have picked up a bad or mis-labled bottle. The ink comes out totally purple. It reminds me af PR tanzanite, a bottle of which still sits on my shelf, still nearly full. (Purple just is not my favourite colour. I think I'm going to write PR and ask if they have had any complaints about this ink and ask if they will be willingly to exchange this bottle for another color.

Can you scan the colour? It sounds kind of cool to me, if it's purple-black. But then purple is one of my favourite colours. I would have thought with the name, it would be some form of blue-black though. I think you should at least contact them about the ink, and see what they have to offer.

The Scan is a little lighter purple then the actual color, but there is no mistake, this is a purple ink. :(

I think your ink is the wrong color. Mine is more navy.

If you want, I am open to buying the PR BMB from you, or trade another inkwith you.

b/c me via FPN mail if interested.

Bryan,

I got your email.

I am open to trade your PR BMB with a Swisher Midnight Blue (full bottle).

Please let me know what you think.

My hotmail is weirding out and I am not sure if you got my email.

Thanks,

KCkc

Hello KCkc,

That sounds like a great deal. I didn't get your email, I'll send you my address and hopefully you can get your hotmail to work.

Thanks!

I am using the Black Magic Blue ink now and I just love the color, it is very nice to have a dark blue, at first sight on the paper I instantly fell in love with this ink.

Black Magic Blue just arrived here. I'm at the office and pens already loaded so I dipped paper into the cap and smeared. It could pass as purple. I'd call it borderline blue purple. The name describes it fairly well since black magic suggested a purple kind of blue to me. I also got nightshade and violette pensee with the same order. Guess I do tend to like the purplish ones a lot. Not enough red in it to call it a purple so Black Magic Blue seems true enough.

I like the color. I just hope it isn't too wet for my Moleskine pages.

Got this loaded in the 600 today and it is blue. This ink line has definite presence and is very dark but blue on the violette end of the blue spectrum. Flows too yet leaves a very nice line. Not at all washed out and no grey or green tones. There is no way I could call this a purple.

Actually, if you compare BMB to Tanzanite, you will see that it's more subdued and bluer. It reminds me of Aurora Blue, or Tibaldi Blue, for those of you who got one of those bottles together with a pen. Flow is similar to Tanzanite, and all the other PR inks.

I'm still waiting for substitutes for Penman Sapphire and Sheaffer Burgundy!

Still seeking the One Pen to Rule Them All...

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.
