The jury's still out on this one but I suspect there will be a re-trial!

Is that gold tinted sheen I'm seeing in the closeup? Nice. Although I'm not thrilled with the dry time, I've seen worse.

This is an interesting color. Thanks for the review.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Quite accurate representation of the real flower, I'd say. And that's the whole point, isn't it? Love the sheen, as always!

Sheen junkie, flex nib enthusiast, and all-around lover of fountain pens...

They *all* seem very representative of the actual colours of the flowers, which is something of an achievement, and it's what I've enjoyed so much about seeing reviews so far. I kind of felt that Diamine missed a trick with the Music set last year; the colours seemed so arbitrarily assigned. (Beethoven is green, Vivaldi is purple and Tchaikovsky is blue? Who knew?)

I am loving the set and this is particularly delicious in a dipped, broad, italic nib. I have some more shots which I will upload as soon as I find what I seek in them..!

Hi Ruth, yes gold sheen although I am disappointed with the shot. After 3.5 hours of playing with the pictures to get them on here I lost the will. However, it's a new day, it's a new dawn... so I will start again! Yes the dry time is pretty long, but this is a glorious shade with incredible qualities.

Agree, it is gloriously vibrant and with a beautiful gold sheen and lovely shading - really, what more can anyone want?

I loved the Music Collection, but I was somewhat confused by the links. I do think of Beethoven as that deep, silky green...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
