I haven't seen a lot of reviews of this color. Not since it came out and everyone was really disappointed that it didn't have silver sheen analogous to Rouge Hematite's gold. Since I use this ink and really like the flow and color, I figured I'd add my two cents.

Cent One: Nope, this ink doesn't have a silver sheen. It doesn't have crazy properties like indestructibility or neon fluorescence or x-ray vision.

Cent Two: This is a good ink. The flow is really good. Yes, there are other inks with good flow also, and even some that are cheaper. But I like this ink. It feels really smooth in my pen, so that it glides across the paper. It's got some water resistance, so I don't have to be afraid to use it for most situations. And I like the color. It's a deep smooth blue. Considering people pay just as much or more for some inks with similar properties, I don't really see this one as overpriced.

My suggestion: Get a sample if you haven't personally tried it, if you like good solid blues.

* seems a little paler in the scan than in real life. Like so many inks.

I had a sample of Bleu Nuit at one time. It was a little duskier color. Less vibrant blue than this one. I'd say it was maybe a little more subtle color. Still a good flow, but not as smooth.

Now, compare the color to the OS inks you just reviewed. ....

Your reviews are great. Thank you!

Also, this ink looks different with a broad nib.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Your image is a little closer to the color I actually see. I'm going to have to try and tweak my scanned image or maybe just break out the camera to get the Bleu Ocean color right.

Hi,

Great review, nice color. Would like to know how this compares to Herbin's Bleu Nuit.

Regards.

Bleu Nuit is a very dusty, almost watercolour blue (many Herbin inks are dusty and watercoloury, and that one is no exception). Bleu Ocean is a much more saturated blue with a distinct violet leaning and no dust: it's actually my favourite blue ever, and I think well worth owning an entire bottle of. The fact that the packaging is gorgeous too is just icing on the cake.
