Swirly Pearly Blue And Orange Gallatin

Just polished this one up today. This is a large sized (14mm cap threads) Gallatin made from Alumilite resin. I used three colors of resin - the base is dark mica blue with light blue and orange swirled in. I pearled them all up just enough that the pen moves and grooves in the light, but it isn't a sparkling distraction.

I used a polished steel #6 JoWo nib and matching clip for the photos. Anybody think a two-tone nib and gold plated clip in the same style would look better? I have them, just didn't think about it until now.

Anyway, on to the photos. These were taken in a light box using "natural light" bulbs. I'll answer any questions, would love any critiques/feedback/suggestions.

Thanks,

Lyle

Scriptorium Pens

Wow, that's quite a beauty, in every way! I think that's my new favorite of all your blanks!

The only improvement I can suggest is to give it to me, I'll fill it with Visconti Blue and I'll use it with love!

Beautiful.

Nice :-)

I like.

Well done.

How absolutely sickening. I cannot suggest anything to improve the pen. Not one thing.

Lovely.

Great colors! I've gotta get one of these light bulbs... :)

Yeah, they work great. It is amazing how different a pen like this looks in different light. The photos show basically how it looks in natural sunlight. In my office, I have something called a UV Filter light, and the light blue pearl becomes far darker and dimmer under that bulb.

Photos taken in a light box are probably never perfect, but I think natural light at least gets closest to the "real" colors IMO.

nuh. don't. the yellow gold color of the two-tone nib would not compliment the work you have done. the choice of using this single tone polished nib is the perfect one. this brings the eyes more to the body of the pen.

great job

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I bought this pen after I fell in love with the pictures posted here. It's a stunning looking pen and writes like a dream. The large, polished steel nib looks great and I have filled it with Visconti Blue, repeatedly.

Fantastic purchase! :) A stunning pen from the Aluminite resin to the design (and awesome photos). I bet Visconti Blue looks divine with this pen. Gorgeous.

Enjoy! :)

Now it's filled with Private Reserve Orange Crush which looks great as well. I love Orange Crush but I think Visconti Blue matches the look of the pen better.
