What an amazing series! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Mr. snarkyshiba,

Thanks for the comment. I'm really glad to hear that. If you watch the whole series of this video, it'll take you a long time to do that, however, I do hope you'll enjoy reading each post as well as watching the all videos.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year! :)
Best wishes from Japan,
Kota Adachi

Hello, in this particular video you have:

Would you happen to know if the Pelikan pen the women are using in the beginning of the video are M600 or M800? Thank you.

Hi Inknoob. Thanks for asking me. It's probably M600. Have a good day! :)

Thank you very much for this series :)! I've particularly enjoyed watching the episodes on Hakase and it helped with understanding what I was buying from them :).

VirtuThe3rd,

Do you know if there are anymore videos on Hakase? I ordered a Hakase a while back, and while I'm still waiting for my pen, I would love to learn more about the owners, the process and the prefecture Hakase is based in. Thanks so much.

Hi hawpunch,

Hakase has his own YouTube channel. As far as I know, he has ever uploaded only 6 movies on it. I don't know whether you've ever seen this site or not, however, I'm wondering this movie (below) is, to say the least of it, really informative. I hope it'll be some help to you. :)

Hi there,

I've decided, on second thought, to leave the FPN for a while. As a matter of fact, I've been suffering from a certain disease since last March. So, I'm afraid I'll be offline to concentrate on the treatment. It's indeed disappointing that I have to say "So long"... When I recover from my disease, I'll surely be back to the FPN. Thanks for your understanding.

See you then!

Kota, I'm very sorry to read that you're ill. Your presence will be missed here. Take care of yourself and good luck with the treatment.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
