I asked them for a Advocate with 1&1/2 turns, they customised it but took too much of time.

That pen resides with my sister, so will post some pics once I go home or precisely when I meet her.

It had some threads on the barrel (the later ones) absent. I don't know about inside the cap threads. The gap between the threads (& size of threads) too was almost same.

BTW what I received required 2 turns (but that was fine too)

Hari...permission granted... glad that they arrived safe and sound...talking of threads and turns in Deccan pens, and since there is some discussion going on in this thread, I took the opportunity to check out all my 'thready' Deccans and noticed that only two models pass the lowest thread test...one is the White Masterpiece...only two full turns...and the other is the pen with a plastic brushed body and steel cap (it is named ONYX on the cap lip)...this has just one and a half full turns...all others are major turners...spinners would love them... ;)

Thanks Pelman...for your appreciation...

de-pen-dent...got yours yet? what about your 'Author'?

I'm going to give this one a miss, as the colors dont appeal to me - although the size and shape of the pen does.

I did get my aerofill Author but it is quite a disappointing writer. It puts out a wet-enough line but it has a lot of "resistance", for some reason. I tried opening up the tines and that still hasnt fixed the resistance.

Am sending it back to Deccan for fixing (a fellow FPNer has been kind enough to take it to them).

No, it is quite smooth and has adequate wetness as well. But it just doesnt glide across the paper as effortlessly as other nibs, but requires some effort to push. Think about trying to slide across a smooth wooden floor vs a floor with rubber mats.

Great to see a beautiful homage pen with its own personality!

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

Call Deccan to ask if they have any left, I was told that all are gone for the moment, but we do know that the mileage may vary depending on who you ask there. :)

Yematso available?

Abhik, the last time I went there, some weeks ago, there weren't any, but you can always call them up and ask them ...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
