My New Toy - Delta Momo Tork

My newest purchase was a Delta Momo Tork. Here's a quick review after using it all day.

It is a nice pen, with a black body made of resin, and rose gold trim. I found it on the specials page at Bertram's Inkwell (and a very special price it was) https://www.bertramsinkwell.com/Delta-Momo-Design-Black-Fountain-Pen.html

Being a Momo design pen, it is racing inspired. Between the cap and the body, it appears that there are gears lining up, and it looks very cool when you twist the cap off. Some people do not like "Momo Design" being engraved down the side of the pen, but you do not see the words when writing with the pen. I personally like the touch.

The nib was surprisingly springy (steel nib), almost rivals the Pelikan steel nibs.

The pen did skip a few times, but overall the flow was nice, and it provided nice lines to exemplify the shading of the ink being used. To fix the skipping it may just need a cleaning and some tweaking. The pen was overall a very smooth writer, and it may work into my rotation of daily users.

Here is a writing sample:

Overall, I would say 7.5 out of 10 stars. Not the greatest pen on the market, but for the price, it is definitely above average.

I have one of these as well, and really like it. No problems at all with skipping you may just need to clean it.

Enjoy!

congrats

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I've got one of these pens (black with rose gold trim and steel M nib) but never used it. I feel the grip of the section (two different diameters) rather strange, althoug nowadays a similar design of this section is used in some Leonardo pens. What is your personal experience when writing? Do you get tired soon because of the grip?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
